“One girl's fight to end female genital mutilation and child marriage in her Kenyan community.”
The story
Mary runs. Away from a cutting ceremony, away from a marriage arranged before she turned fifteen — and then, years later, back toward the same community to argue for the girls behind her.
As story producer I helped shape the arc across several communities and characters, and helped design the film to travel: built for panels, classrooms and post-screening conversation as much as for the screen.
